El desencadenante que da origen a “Mi querido Juan Manuel” es una depresión. Breve, pero una depresión. 15 días después del 14 de marzo de 2020, me encontraba sumido en una profunda depresión. “Hay algo que no soporto y es que me aten de pies y manos”. Escuchar la noticia de que a una ciudadana se le había negado la posibilidad de sacar a su padre de la residencia de ancianos en la que se encontraba interno, me hizo saltar del sofá. La indignación resultó ser la mejor medicina. Era evidente que habíamos perdido la libertad y miles de preguntas debían formularse.

¿Dónde están los límites de la libertad, de la dignidad humana, de la libre elección, de la libertad de expresión? ¿Vivimos realmente en una sociedad libre, o es todo un espejismo?

Where are the limits of freedom, of human dignity, of free choice, of freedom of expression? Do we really live in a free society, or is it all a mirage?
